State and Location of High Court in India

  • Article 214-231 in Part-VI of the Constitution of India deals with the organisation, independence, jurisdiction, power Procedures of the High Courts.
  • At present there are 25 HCS in the country.
  • Delhi is the only Union Territory that has a HC of its own (1966).
  • The institution of High Courts were originated in India in 1862 at Calcutta, Bombay, Madras.
